About Me
“I like to get to the roots of problems. But getting to the roots of problems take time and effort that we are likely to abandon. Thats why I think making the process as enjoyable as possible is a very important element”
Introduction
I am a medical doctor turned coach. After practicing years of general medicine alongside with addictology, I realize that I have a passion for change. We already know what is needed for us to lead a better life but in the end, the challenge is not on knowing what to change. But how. This question becomes central in my professional and personal life. As a person with international background, having moved from my home country to Europe before moving to Switzerland, I realize the challenge first hand, to adapt, to change.
I realize first hand that change is not only from cognitive point of view. In (old) medicine, we are trained to think our bodies as machines. We often put emotions aside. In my opinion this is why traditional approaches to prevention and treatment in medicine offer limited results. Only a comprehensive understanding of our internal mechanisms would in my opinion bring better results. This would then combine short term and long term approaches in every strategies that I take.
I have a passion for systemic change. I realize that my personal effort alone wouldn’t do much if the system is flawed and impermeable to change. That’s why I did an Executive MBA degree alongside with my work as a general practitioner. I learned about the internal mechanisms of most entrepreneurial actions which are in a way analogical to our personal existence. Theres a hierarchy of needs. There’s a strategy to fulfil those needs in steps. There are foundations to be done. Sacrifices to be made. A goal to reach. In my philosophy, we also need strategy to fulfil our needs. The Maslows hierarchy of needs illustrate this. We do not feel the need for a social need if we don’t have our need for safety met. We don’t have a need for safety if we don’t reach our physiological needs met first.
At some point in our life, when all things basic are met, we need to fulfill a more transcendental need such as self-esteem and self-actualization. For me, personally this is a journey that has a start but doesn’t have a fix ending. Its a process. And my aim, my goal as a doctor turned coach is to make this journey, this process as enjoyable as possible.
It would be an honor for me to contribute to a positive change in your life. However small it is.
